Uttar Pradesh is one of the largest contributors in various sectors of economy & has been consistently focusing on developing infrastructure, human capital and effective policy implementation so as to create a conducive ambience for IT-BPM industry. For effective implementation of Govt policies, Uttar Pradesh has established a Policy Implementation Unit (PIU). One of its achievements is the construction of 100 acre IT City on PPP model in Lucknow with state of art skill development center having a capacity of 5,000 students per year. This IT city with min. INR 1,500 Crores investment will generate direct & indirect employment of approx. 75,000 people. Another initiatives include establishment of IT Parks in Agra, Meerut, Varanasi, Kanpur & Gorakhpur and the first “Government incubator” IT UPVAN in Ghaziabad & Lucknow. Department of electronics and IT, govt. of UP would facilitate with Grant-in-Aid for capital and operational expenses.”

MedTech: A Center of Excellence in field of Medical equipment/electronics and Health Informatics. This novel initiative is being set up by a consortia comprising of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), SGPGI Lucknow, Department of IT and Electronics, Government Of UP, Association Of Medical Device Industry (AIMED C), Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone (AMTZ) along with Kalam Institute of Health Technology (KIHT). The objectives of opening the same is to boost start-ups in the field of medical equipment/electronics & health informatics, and, to contribute to “Make-in-India” & “Digital India” programs of Govt. of India by reducing Health Care Equipment imports and recognize value of Health Care Equipment & Technology locally.”
Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI-MS), set up in 1983, is one of the best medical institutes of the country. Located at a distance of about 15 kms from the centre of the city, SGPGI-MS is involved in providing training and research, super specialty teaching and medical- care. Dr. Omkar Rai is the Director-General of STPI, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India. Under his leadership, STPI has been providing services to the IT/ITES/ESDM industry for the promotion of software exports and entrepreneurship from the country. He is actively involved in various policy formulations required for the growth of the industry from time to time. Before STPI, he served in National Informatics Centre in various capacities. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Banaras Hindu University.

Saurabh Srivastava is an Indian entrepreneur, investment professional, institution builder, and former chairman of NASSCOM, a non-profit trade organization for the promotion of the Indian IT industry. A master’s degree holder from Harvard University, he founded Infinity Venture, reportedly the first venture capital fund in India, and is a recipient of Dataquest Lifetime Achievement Award, the IT Industry Award from the Prime Minister of India and Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honor of the Padma Shri, in 2016, for his contributions to trade and industry.

Dr R K Dhiman is director of Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow.
Dhiman had completed his graduation and postgraduation in medicine from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow, in 1983 and 1987 respectively. He obtained his doctorate in gastroenterology from SGPGI in 1991.He has been working at the hepatology department of PGIMER, Chandigarh, since 1993.He is an internationally recognized hepatologist. He is instrumental in starting the Hepatitis C Control Program (Mukh-Mantri Punjab Hepatitis C Relief Fund and Injection Safety Project) successfully in Punjab. Currently working towards the elimination of viral hepatitis from India. The Union government had launched the National Viral Hepatitis Control Program (NVHCP) on 28 July, 2018, with the provision of free diagnosis and treatment for viral hepatitis through the National Health Mission, and is the Chairperson of NVHCP’s technical resource group.

Shri Devesh Tyagi is Senior Director, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). He has more than 26 years of experience in IT/ESDM sector. He has been actively involved in the promotion of IT/ESDM sector and also working for the promotion of entrepreneurship, innovation and product creation in the country. He has also been involved in various policy formations for IT/ESDM sector. Prior to joining STPI, he served National Informatics Centre (NIC) in various capacities. He has a wide range of experience in Project Management and Software development. He possesses strong technical capabilities and delivered lot of remarkable projects during this period. Shri Tyagi has earned his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Marathawada University and Masters Degree from BITS, Pilani.

Sh. Rajneesh Agrawal is Director, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), Noida whose jurisdiction comprises 10 States of Northern India. He is contributing immensely in the repositioning of STPI with focus on innovation and dispersal of the IT/ESDM industry in the northern part of India. Along with the statutory responsibilities with regard to STP and EHTP schemes, he is profoundly contributing for the growth of High-Speed Data Communication services, incubation services and setting up of Centre of Excellence (CoE) for new & emerging technologies like Block-Chain, MedTech, FinTech, ESDM, AI, Data Analytics, etc.

Known in policy forums as the “Med Tech Man of India”, Dr. Jitendar Sharma is the Managing Director & CEO of Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) which is Asia’s first medical devices manufacturing city besides being the Adviser for Health to Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, India and Executive Director of Kalam Institute of Health Technology (KIHT)- a technology policy research body set up with the support of Govt. of India. He is adjunct faculty at University of Adelaide, Australia; and program Director for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) fellowships in India. He has been founder of 6 organizations and architect of Universal Health Coverage for the state of Andhra Pradesh- the first state in India with 50 million people to declare UHC.
